The RSK commercial herd was started about two years after the Purebred Hereford Herd. The herd began using some of our top Hereford females and breeding them to top Red Angus sires such as New Trend, a top milk and maternal Red Angus sire. Now after about 20 years we have a commercial herd that is second to none. We have designed our commercial herd around the top genetics in the breed and about five years ago introduced Black Angus into the herd. The quality of our commercial herd is evident as a majority of the females are now used as recipient cows for our embryo program within the Hereford herd.
The last several years we have sold several packages of commercial females (Red Angus X Hereford). These females have gone on to work very well for their new owners. These females have been marketed at the Annual MHA Bull and Female sale in Brandon, as well as private treaty.

About three years ago we decided to include the use of steer bulls or club calf genetics to the commercial herd. RSK Farms has been quite successful with our steer program with many of the steers placing in the top of the club and shows.
